Christiana DelloRusso

Christiana is a partner at Providence Ventures, the strategic venture capital arm of Providence St. Joseph Health. At Providence Ventures, Christiana focuses on Chronic Disease, Genomics & Precision Medicine, and Behavioral Health & Wellness. She serves on the Board of Directors of precision medicine company N-of-One, and is a Board Observer of digital health company Omada Health. Prior to joining Providence, Christiana was Vice President, Commercialization at Life Science Washington (formerly the WBBA), and Managing Director of WINGS, the Washington Medical Technology Angel Investor Network. Prior to joining WBBA and WINGS, Christiana consulted for multiple emerging biotechnology and med tech companies in Cambridge, MA and supported the Executive Director of the Boston-based, non-profit organization Women Entrepreneurs in Science and Technology (WEST). She also started, ran and sold a women’s health and fitness business between 2007-2010. Christiana holds a PhD in Physiology from the University of Michigan and completed postdoctoral work at the University of Washington, Harvard Medical School & Children’s Hospital Boston.

Christine M. Cournoyer
CEO and Chairperson of the Board

Christine Cournoyer is Chief Executive Officer of N-of-One. Prior to joining N-of-One, she was President and Chief Operating Officer of Picis (now a division of United Healthcare), a leading company in the healthcare IT market. Picis provides software solutions that bridge revenue cycle and clinical workflow management for high-acuity operations within hospitals, including emergency rooms, operating rooms, and critical care. At the time of its acquisition, Picis’ systems were installed in more than 1,800 medical centers, hospitals, and integrated delivery networks in 19 countries around the world. Ms. Cournoyer served as President and Chief Operating Officer of Lightbridge, Inc. and held senior management positions at IBM, including Vice President of Business Transformation as well as Chief Information Officer of IBM’s software group. She also served as Senior Vice President at Lotus Development. Ms. Cournoyer was named one of the “10 Most Influential Women in Technology” by Businessweek. She is currently a Corporator for Emerson Hospital and a member of both the Boston Club and the Women Corporate Directors. Ms. Cournoyer earned a B.S. from UMass, Lowell and an M.A. in Economics from Northeastern University. She also attended Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s Executive Education Program.

Dave Lang

Dave Lang is a private equity investor who specializes in healthcare services, healthcare technology and software/services sectors. He began his career as a financial analyst at Merrill Lynch, then moved to TA Associates as a software associate in 1990. He spent 25 years at TA in various roles, including Managing Director in TA’s healthcare team. At TA, Dave led investments in numerous companies, including One Call Medical, TARGUSinfo, American Access Care, Alma Lasers, Intercontinental Exchange, National Imaging Associates, MQ Associates, Medsolutions and Lawson Software. He achieved a 2.9x total gross return on his sponsored investments while at TA. Dave is also an avid investor in small companies, particularly Massachusetts-based healthcare companies. He is currently on the boards of Lahey Clinic, Tristan Immediate Care, and Connected Home Care. He is Senior Advisor to start-up technology PE fund called Wavecrest Growth. A varsity basketball player at Harvard, Dave is currently Assistant Coach of Babson College’s team. Dave graduated from Harvard in 1989 and Harvard Business School in 1995.

Jennifer Levin Carter, MD, MPH

Jennifer Levin Carter, MD, MPH, founded N-of-One in 2008 and currently serves Chief Medical Officer. A board-certified internist and seasoned entrepreneur, she has more than 20 years of experience evaluating existing and emerging markets, new medical technologies and early-stage companies in the health care field. In establishing N-of-One, Dr. Carter brought to the enterprise extensive experience analyzing market opportunities, creating services to improve health care delivery, forming expert teams and identifying business synergies. She also has experience in business analysis and planning for new technologies in health care. Prior to launching N-of-One, Dr. Carter was a consultant and analyzed biotechnology, pharmaceutical and medical device firms on behalf of investors. She previously worked with Angel Healthcare Investors evaluating early-stage private companies and raising seed capital for start-ups. Dr. Carter has B.S. degrees in Biochemistry and Biophysics from Yale University. She received an M.D. from Harvard Medical School and an M.P.H. from The Harvard School of Public Health.

Melissa Cruz

Melissa Cruz is Chief Financial Officer at N-of-One. Prior to joining N-of-One, she was CFO and SVP at Progress Software, a global, public software company. Previously, Ms. Cruz was the CFO and EVP for Picis, a leading company in the Healthcare IT market that offers solutions bridging both revenue cycle and clinical workflow management for the high acuity operations in hospitals. During her tenure at Picis, the company was sold to UnitedHealth Inc. Prior to Picis, Ms. Cruz was the SVP of Business Services and Chief Financial Officer for BladeLogic, a market leader in the Datacenter Automation arena. BladeLogic grew over 100% each year and transitioned from a start up to a true growth company, becoming profitable and cash-flow positive, while expanding into 12 countries during her tenure. Previously, she spent eight years at Concord Communications (CCRD), including more than five years as the EVP of Business Services and CFO. During her tenure at Concord, Melissa directed M&A activity that resulted in five successful acquisitions, raised a convertible bond debenture and presided over the sale of the company to Computer Associates. Melissa has a B.S. in Finance from Boston College and an M.S. in Management from Lesley University.

Steve Gullans, Ph.D

Steve Gullans, Ph.D., is an author, scientist, entrepreneur, and biotech investor. He is a Managing Director at Excel Venture Management where he invests in life science companies with transformative technologies. Previously Steve co-founded and held senior executive roles at biotech companies. Currently, he is a Director at Cleveland HeartLab, Gemphire, Molecular Templates, NofOne, and Orionis Biosciences and he previously was a Director at Tetraphase Pharmaceuticals [TTPH] and other successful startups. Steve loves innovation and has spoken widely, including at TED and TEDx. He and Juan Enriquez recently co-authored Evolving Ourselves, a book that provides a sweeping tour of how humans are changing the course of evolution—sometimes intentionally, sometimes not. Previously he was a professor at Harvard Medical School where he published more than 130 scientific papers and was elected Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science.

Ms. Ying Lee

Ms. Ying Lee is a Managing Director of Yunfeng Capital, a private equity firm founded by Mr. Jack Ma and Mr. David Yu. Ms. Lee focuses on investments in consumer services, technology and clean energy, with over ten years of operating and investment experience. Prior to joining Yunfeng Capital, Ms. Lee was a partner at KPCB US. She helped establish KPCB China, and invested in industry leaders, such as Autonavi, Venus Tech and Sungrow Power. Additionally, she worked closely with portfolio companies, including Google and Amazon, on their strategies and expansion into China. Ms. Lee joined KPCB from UTStarcom, where she was the Deputy General Manager of the IPTV business unit with a wide range of operating experience. Before joining UTStarcom, she worked as a management consultant at McKinsey & Co. in its Silicon Valley office, where she helped Fortune 500 companies design their marketing strategies, internal management processes and acquisition strategy. Ms. Lee holds a B.S. in Computer Science, a B.S. in Economics and an M.S. in Computer Science from MIT.
